Snapshots of Bocskai's Leaving Ceremony

This morning at 10 o'clock, the senior class of Bocskai-Istvan high school graduated. Hopefully, they'll all pass their exams next week so that they don't have to say good-bye to the school again next year. Check out the scenery from my viewpoint:

The leaving ceremony consisted of:

* The school being decorated in hundreds of pine branches and lilacs (a coniferous wonder!)

* A selected group of underclassmen who lined the corridors (as decoration?)

* Seniors coming out of their classrooms at the top of the school escorting their head or form teacher in a very slow parade around the school singing a good-bye song to the school.

* Two seniors singing "The Circle of Life" in Hungarian.

*Me getting overheated on the stairs watching and having to hang out by a window for a while.

* The seniors handing over two flags to the 11th graders or new seniors. Each class of seniors attached a ribbon to the flag with a quotation on it.

*At the end, the seniors paraded around the outside of the school in the rain. Tradition is a must!

Afterwards, I went to a nice restaurant in the middle of a vineyard somewhere between Szerencs and Tokaj with my now ex-student, Angela and her extended family.

Below is a shot of six seniors singing a song in Hungarian. The guy second from the left was one of my best students.

Coniferous wonder... is that anything like a coniferous blowhole?
