Communist Stars and Teachers with Amnesia

It has happened more than twice now that a particular colleague of mine has told me what to teach for her class and then ends up teaching it herself before I can get to it. The night before, I go to work on my somewhat detailed plan only for it to have already been done by Amnesia Teacher. That leaves me to improvise more than I want to, especially when the kids can barely understand me.

A few days ago, I was playing a game with a class and I was drawing a chalk star in the column of the group that was winning. Either some of the kids still had a chip on their shoulder about Socialism or they just wanted to distract me for a while, because several rushed to the board and said that I had drawn 'bad stars...socialist stars' "This is better," a girl said, who then proceeded to draw the exact same star I had. The kind where you don't have to pick the pen up from the paper. She tried over and over again to make it look different, when finally a boy in back whom I don't particularly like, decided to end it and drew another star that looked like an X with another line through the middle.
