From Kansas to Oz Kinda Wind

It snowed a few days ago, leaving only a dusting on the ground. The thickness being of the kind that a detective would use to discover fingerprints. Then it went away...quickly...just like the passing of the winter. The absence of snow speeds up the season immensely.

Last night and today, we've had extraordinary wind. The kind that moves clouds across the sky within your frame of view in about a minute. I can't help but think that maybe I've been blown from normality (or at least as close to normality as anyone is) to another place...

...a place where teachers watch my students entering my classroom holding a "csiga" or chocalate snail (spiralled baked good) and a cup of juice and tell me that it's prohibited for them to eat and drink in the lessons, then continue to say, 'but they do it all the time anyway.' No wonder this place is chaotic. Imagine little kids and pre-teens running amok through the halls pitching yo-yo's about, wrestling each other, screaming, and slamming each other against doors (surprising your heart into your mouth if you happen to be sitting in a room where this happens).

I've been blown into a world where kids rule the school.
